Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead
These twelve acres of wholesome family fun and entertainment is open every day from April 1-October 31. The kiddos get to learn firsthand about farmstead life! From bottle-feeding baby goats, fishing with cane poles and worms, riding in a horse-drawn carriage, panning for treasures, visiting a one-room schoolhouse and many more, the farmstead is unique attraction in Overland Park!

First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District!
On the First Friday of every month, thousands of residents and visitors migrate to the Crossroads, enjoying what has become the city’s liveliest and most popular recurring event. Arts organizations, galleries, studios, and a wide variety of local businesses feature local, regional and national artists as well as live entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m. Many art exhibits offer free wine and snacks. There are also many wonderful restaurants to try in the area! My personal favorite is Grunauer! Take the free KC Streetcar and avoid the parking hassle! Kansas City Ballet Presents: Diamonds
Following its Kennedy Center premiere in Washington, D.C., the acclaimed holiday production returns to KC for its 45th year. The classic, Victorian-era story by E.T.A. Hoffman featuring Clara, the Prince and Dr. Drosselmeier completely reimagined with exquisite costumes by Holly Hynes, grand sets by Alain Vaës and captivating choreography by Artistic Director Devon Carney.

Drinking and hunting make an EGG-cellent combination at KEGS ‘n’ EGGS! The Kansas City Renaissance Festival grounds are waiting for you to HUNT for hidden Easter Eggs! Each egg contains tickets to be redeemed for prizes and a few GOLDEN eggs are even filled with CASH! If all that hunting is making you EGG-stra thirsty, you’re in luck! There will be Craft Beer Tastings from local and regional breweries along with EGG-citing games and contests! TAO has performed in over 22 countries and 400 cities around the world. After its first performance at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, TAO sold out every show of its first North American tour.
The men and women of TAO live and train at a compound in the mountains of Japan, reaching the highest level of virtuosity only after years of intensive study. The performers each bring nontraditional flair to the group by drawing on their diverse backgrounds, one as a hard-rock musician, another as a gymnast and another as a composer. With whirlwind martial arts displays and pulsating beats, the drummers bring a young and vibrant style to this authentic show.

Modern Dinosaurs? The Modern Dinosaurs? exhibit is a must-see for all you dinosaur lovers out there. This 3 month exhibit investigates how science has transformed natural history today. Shown at the exhibit are full-size dinosaur skeletons and original letters and other scientific artificats.

“The Art of the Brick” exhibit at Union Station is going on now through May 29th! It’s a captivating exhibition, featuring intriguing works of art made exclusively from one of the most recognizable toys in the world, the LEGO. Tickets are now on sale. The “Through the Eyes of Picasso” exhibit at the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum is currently going on and will through April 8th, 2018. I’ve always been fascinated by his work. This should be good! Get more info here.
